Designed by Giorgio Armani, the inaugural collection offers a wide range of refined designs and uses the most exquisite of materials. Silk, woven with a special metallic thread, accompanies large “marble” motifs. Shantung silk, with its irregular slub yarns, creates interplays of opaqueness and brightness for panels with palm tree designs in delicate shades of light blue / beige and sepia. A trompe l’oeil landscape is rendered in soft shades on a grey background. Sisal, a fibre derived from the agave plant, is interwoven with – and embellished with – a subtle metallic thread that adds brightness to a shell motif in shades of beige and light blue, which has an almost natural look.
