AMERICAN BY DESIGN

What We Preserve, Reimagine & Build Next

What makes design distinctly American, and who gets to define it? Moderated by Wendy Goodman, Design Editor of New York Magazine and Curbed, this thought-provoking discussion brings together an extraordinary cross section of creative voices: Windsor Smith, Interior Designer and Founder of Windsor Smith Home; Stephen Earle, Principal of Stephen Earle Design; Hutton Wilkinson, President and Creative Director of Tony Duquette, Inc.; and Richard Manion, Principal of Richard Manion Architecture, Inc.

Moving from the singular object to the room, residence, building, and landscape, the conversation will explore the people, places, traditions, and cultural forces that have shaped America’s visual identity. Together, the panelists will consider what we preserve, what we reinterpret, and what we build next, revealing how the choices made by designers, architects, builders, collectors, makers, and storytellers reflect not only how we live, but who we are and who we are becoming.

A reception will immediately follow at Mimi London, Suite B-396.

Gilt & Shadow: The Art of Neil Lane

September 18 – December 5, 2026
PDC Design Gallery

The PDC Design Gallery is pleased to announce Gilt and Shadow: The Art of Neil Lane, and exhibition of works by Neil Lane that will be on view from September 18- December 5, 2026. For more than half a century, Neil Lane has led a double life. To the world, he is one of the most celebrated jewelers of his generation—the cultivated eye behind red carpet icons–a name synonymous with glamor and design.  But since childhood in the 1960s, Lane has also been quietly making art—a private practice unseen even by many who know him well, a practice that has run parallel to his glittering public career for decades. Take a curator led tour of the exhibition during Fall Market from 12:00 – 5:00 PM.
